Antalya’s Side Region to Become New Tourism Brand, Announces Minister Ersoy

Antalya’s Side region is set to emerge as a new tourism brand, as announced by Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. During the launch of the Side Cultural Heritage Project, Minister Ersoy highlighted the success of existing tourism brands like ‘Turkaegean’ and ‘Antalya Riviera’ and revealed plans to introduce Side as a new brand with its own unique logo. He stated, “When the project is realized, the region will become a destination befitting its spirit, offering visitors a more captivating atmosphere to watch the sunset.”

The announcement was made at a press event held in the ancient city of Side, located in Antalya’s Manavgat district. The event was attended by notable figures, including Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Antalya Governor Ersin Yazıcı, and other officials. Following the introduction of the new Side brand, Professor Dr. Feriştah Alanyalı, head of the Side Excavations, provided insights into the ongoing archaeological work in the area.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized Turkey’s rich cultural heritage, describing the country as an “open-air museum” due to its unique geographical and geopolitical position that has hosted numerous civilizations. He noted the responsibilities that come with preserving such a heritage.

The Side Cultural Heritage Project aims to enhance the region’s appeal by integrating its historical significance with modern tourism infrastructure, positioning Side as a prominent destination on Turkey’s tourism map.
